Yvon Ledanois: "There are still two stages left..."
Nairo Quintana is now second in the overall classification of the Tour of Catalunya, one second ahead of Joao Almeida in the bonus game tonight.
On the line
“I knew that it wouldn’t be easy with the bonus seconds in this stage for sprinters. I am a rider with little experience in flat sprints. Tonight I am second in the provisional general classification of this Tour of Catalonia. I want to concentrate on the positive as the two stages that are coming up are very hard and anything can happen. I still have the objective to finish on the podium in Barcelona, and why not win”.
“I went to check the bonus sprint with the commissaires, there is nothing to discuss! Nairo tried his luck well led by his team-mates once again, you can even see on the TV images that he congratulates them for their work. Almeida does 3, he takes a second and so takes the jersey! Now he has the leader’s jersey of the Tour of Catalonia on his shoulders, there are now two stages left and it is up to us, team Arkéa-Samsic, to make sure that we can shake up the general classification. I am not used to being satisfied with second place”.
