The climber from Lyon finishes the Alpes Isère Tour with two distinctive jerseys: best climber and most combative rider of the event.

I had this Alpes Isère Tour ticked off my list. I went on the offensive from stage 2 onwards, scoring a lot of points for the mountain jersey. I'm happy with my top 10 and my progress on this final mountain stage. I didn't suffer as much as I did last year and I was more in contact with the best riders in a race that went fast all day. My team-mates did an extraordinary job and we stuck together. They told me to hang in there because it was a long stage. I'd like to thank them for that. I'm coming away from this race with two distinctive jerseys, my first two in the pros.

It's a competition in which we've learned every day by being involved. Jean-Loup is still in with a chance of winning with a few kilometres to go, which just goes to show that he's getting better and better. He could have done better had it not been for the problems he encountered on stage 3, but that's racing. He finished 9th today, and won two distinctive jerseys, best climber and most combative. His first two in the pros. I'd like to underline the spirit of all the riders in this race, who showed solidarity and enterprise, and that's bound to pay off.
